Process

How it works?

  1. 1. Assessment

You fill in a short questionnaire or write to us. We assess the route, the type of disruption and which legal framework applies to your flight – free of charge.

  2. 2. Documents

We collect the evidence: booking confirmation, boarding pass, airline notices and actual flight data. We find out the missing information about the cause of the delay ourselves.

  3. 3. Claim

We file the claim with the airline and handle all correspondence. If the carrier refuses to pay without valid grounds, we escalate to the national authority or to court.

  4. 4. Payout

We transfer the recovered compensation to your account, less the success fee clearly stated in the agreement. If we do not win – you pay nothing.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Short answers about compensation for flight delays, cancelled flights and the process itself.

When is compensation due for a delayed flight?

Standard compensation may be due when EU passenger rights rules apply to the flight and you reach your final destination at least 3 hours late. Every case is assessed individually – the route, the operating carrier and the reason for the delay all matter.

How many hours must a flight be delayed for compensation?

Usually a delay of at least 3 hours in reaching the final destination is assessed, not the departure delay. A flight may therefore depart very late but make up part of the time en route.

How much can flight compensation be?

Standard compensation may in certain cases amount to €250, €400 or €600 per passenger. The amount usually depends on the flight distance and the specific circumstances.

Is compensation due for a cancelled flight?

It may be. What matters is when the airline informed you about the cancellation, what alternative flight was offered and why the flight was cancelled. If you were informed more than 14 days in advance, standard compensation is usually not due.

Does a technical fault remove the right to compensation?

Not automatically. Ordinary aircraft technical faults are, according to settled practice, often part of the carrier's operating risk, although individual technical events may be assessed differently depending on the circumstances.

What are extraordinary circumstances?

These are events beyond the carrier's control that could not have been avoided even if all reasonable measures had been taken, such as certain extreme weather conditions, air traffic management decisions or security risks. The label alone is not enough – the specific situation and the carrier's actions are assessed.

What documents are needed for a flight compensation claim?

A booking confirmation or boarding pass and any airline notices about the delay or cancellation are usually enough. If you do not have them, the flight number and date are normally sufficient – we collect the rest ourselves.

Can I claim compensation for an older flight?

Often yes. Limitation periods depend on the applicable national law and vary, so it is worth checking even if the flight took place several years ago – the check costs nothing.

How much does the AirDue service cost?

The initial flight assessment is free. A service fee applies only when compensation is successfully recovered, and you see the exact fee before entering into the service agreement.

How long does it take to receive compensation?

If the carrier responds constructively, the process often takes from a few weeks to a couple of months. Involving the supervisory authority or a court can take longer. We keep you informed at every stage.
